My freshman year in High School, I became best friends with a girl named Shanna Thacker.  At the beginning of the relationship she was a Christian, and as the year progressed her faith did as well.  She and I had some conversations about her faith and I forgot them as soon as they were over.  But as the school year came to an end she and I began to debate more than talk.  One weekend we decided to get together, so I spent the night at her house and just like usual we began to talk about the Bible, I told her that I thought that the story of the flood was just a good bed time story, and nothing else.  She went on to say something else, but to this day I can’t remember because as I went to lie down, the Holy Spirit took a hold of me and opened my eyes partially, letting me know that if I didn’t do something I was going to go to hell.  At the time I had no idea what that was, so I assumed I had to be baptized, it was about 2am and we went to her mother, begging her to baptize me.  Instead, she was able to calm me down to be willing to wait till tomorrow, so I could go to church with them and talk to their pastor about it.  During the service they asked for all the ladies to come up to be prayed for, it wasn’t till then that the Lord finished opening my eyes and at that moment, I knew that I was a wretched, helpless, hopeless, sinful human being with out Him, and He showed me that He loved me and desired the best for me, I had no other choice, I accepted Him into my heart and life forever.  That day I was baptized and sealed by the Holy Spirit.  I walked on air that day, and I will always thank Him for scaring me that night.
